COVID-19 STATEMENT

Hello, we’re Dot (she/her) and Eira (she/her), The Ash editors for this year. Calling this moment of time - after almost a year of living in a global pandemic - ‘unsettling’ or ‘unprecedented’ doesn’t do justice to how Covid-19 has changed the global landscape and our ideas of ‘normal’. It has been such a difficult time for so many people, and creating a virtual and accessible space for poetry felt important to us. Poetry is a space of holding, as well as a point at which to meet and confront the unknown or the uncertain. It has been so wonderful to work with poets and artists in and beyond Oxford throughout this period. Welcome to a digital version of the Ash, a space for people to share their voices as poets and artists.
